An overview of social documentary photography 

Street photography, photojournalism, and social documentary photography have long been understood to be three related fields of photography. In this podcast, I give an overview of what social documentary photography is, and what separates it from the other two branches of photography. 

1. Social documentary photography requires a long-term commitment to a community of people on a particular subject. 
2. With this long-term commitment comes a melting of performance into authenticity. 
3. For meaningful photographs, one must study and practice to become visually literate.
