On Saturday, January 16th, the streets of the New Orleans’ French Quarter came alive with a cast of colorful characters, as the Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire, along with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, led a second line parade in tribute to David Bowie. Bowie passed away last week at the age of 69, after a 18-month battle with cancer. The parade departed Preservation Hall on St. Peter St., and headed down Toulouse to the river, where the parade stopped for around ten minutes before continuing on to the final destination at One Eyed Jack’s.

In September 2005, Arcade Fire appeared in a live Radio City Music Hall performance with Bowie. Bowie also appeared on Arcade Fire’s 2013 album, Reflektor.
