ZERO Tolerance For Deception in Documentary Photography

Me – Did you use that lady with kids as the “centerpiece” of you show on homelessness? Did you let folks know that she was not homeless and was just running a hustle? It would be good to raise awareness about how many people fake being homeless.

While she was exhibited she was not the center piece. Even after you told me that she was a hustler I had already spent the money for the image and it along with the other 28 images does make for a nice exhibit. The exhibit raised awareness for the homeless as intended so I consider the exhibit a success. I do not gain in any way either by recognition or monetary from the exhibit so at the end of the day I guess it does not actually matter.

Me – Honesty does not matter? You knew prior to spending any money on the image that she was not homeless. The image was still on your card and in your camera when I told you she wasn’t homeless. You told me that you had taken the image just prior to us meeting at your hotel. Honesty does indeed matter, James.

In my opinion he insults people who are homeless, invalidates his claim that he is raising awareness and actually gives ammunition to those who persecute the homeless
