Perception theory is a body of knowledge that shows us how humans perceive, organize, and process images. To study and understand this kind of stuff in photography is the equivalent of studying music theory for guitar.

To communicate our worldview through music, we must first have some understanding of the structure of music. The more we understand, the greater our ability to communicate through music. Same thing with photography. It’s not all subjective, as many people maintain today. Some universals connect all human beings.
