Golden is a historic gold-rush town located between Cedar Crest and Madrid in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. Golden was a boomtown back in the 1820s and 1830s, when placer gold was discovered in the nearby Ortiz Mountains. By 1928, the post office closed, and Golden officially became a ghost town. Come with me on a Backroad Biker Adventure to visit with the self-appointed Mayor of Golden, Leroy Gonzales.
