Why I use mason line rather than bank line for many off-grid homesteading and camp projects

This is my old homemade bow fishing rig that I made using mason line. I’ve caught lots of fish with this rig!

For making things like tripods, temporary shelters, and other general camp projects while out in the forest, I’ve found mason line to be an awesome alternative to bank line.

First, it’s far less expensive. Second, you get more of it on a roll. And third, I’ve found it to be strong and durable.

Do you use bank line? If so, maybe give mason line a try. You may find it to be an awesome alternative for many of your bushcraft projects!
