Tony has his own unique religion that he preaches on the streets of Chicago. Tony is currently working to complete a set of new “Commandments” which he claims God has instructed him to write down. Tony believes that “God will allow” him to “live indoors” once he has “repented,”and has finished writing “God’s new Commandments.”
I’ve attempted to help Tony get into housing several times over the years, but each time I’d get started on the process, Tony would get cold feet, and insist that he just wanted to “focus on his ministry” rather than seek permanent housing. Tony has lived out on the streets and in shelters since the late 1990s.
