The first step in my image selection process is separating the junk photos from the best-of-the-best and the transitional photos. Storytelling through a photo essay involves multiple images in a sequence. While all the images must meet certain standards, not every photograph needs to be a standalone museum piece. 

By character and situation

My books are about people. People in an environment and situations. I like to separate my photos by the individual people and also by the situations and environments they are in.
