While I wouldn’t want to use flint and steel as an emergency option for starting a fire, it is a fun skill to have. A few years back, I started fires in my wood stove all winter using only flint and steel to hone my skills. This steel was made by a guy I knew in the New Mexico Mountain Man Club, and it is, by far, the most sparky steel I have owned. Have you mastered the skill of flint and steel fire-making?
