I have a chunk of change coming in a few months, so I’m taking advantage of the situation and getting myself a new Harley. I’m pretty set on getting a Sportster. So many people are unhappy in their lives. Brad seems rather sad and decided to leave a nasty comment. I feel sorry for you, Brad. I hope you find some happiness.

I have a Road King with 63k and a Fat Boy with 123k. I like big twins they suit my needs. I’ve always wanted a sporty for shorter runs and I like the way they look. In your case with the roads the way they are with the enchantment and all, a springer sporty is definitely the way to go. The carbed Evos are hard to beat.
I love the power of the big twins, especially on the interstate.
I’ve had two Sportsters. It is a great little bike I love it. Something else you might want to consider is replacing stock shocks with something a little more substantial or else that dirt road will beat your back up. I’m 79 years old and still ride. I limit my riding to paved roads. I’m looking forward to your new Back Road Adventures. I think I saw all of the older ones that you posted. Good job
That’s a good idea. I’ll look into doing that. Thanks for sharing!
You’re really full of it aren’t you? Lecturing the rest of us about living simply and not needing material possessions, then you turn around and brag about buying motorcycles and guitars and camera gear. What a phony little weasel.
I live simply. There’s nothing wrong with material possessions. Consumerism however, is something I don’t participate in. I don’t need the latest and greatest. I have a Nikon D700 camera! Lol. That’s prehistoric in camera world. I’ve had the same camera for the past 10 years, and the same camera lenses for 20! I’m buying a motorcycle that’s over 20 years old! I’m buying the motorcycle as a reliable and affordable means of transportation. Thanks for your criticism, but it’s actually totally unfounded. Nice try!
You’re definitely participating in consumerism – doesn’t matter whether the bike is 2 years old or 20. Every other post you make is about something you’re buying or considering buying, so if that’s not consumerism, I don’t know what is. By the way, it’s fine to be a consumer. Just admit that you are instead of pretending that you’re some salt of the Earth, minimalist-living guy. “The greatest lies we tell are the ones we tell ourselves”!
Every person on the planet consumes. It’s part of life. But not everyone participates in “consumerism” – The act of buying stuff just to be buying stuff. No pretending here. I’m a minimalist! Sorry that bothers you. Why are you here? Lol. It makes no sense. It’s your time, waste it as you see fit! Gotta go take care of our rabbits. You have a mighty fine day.
I hope you find some happiness… https://www.chuckjines.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/sadbrad.mp3
I agree with your thoughts on the sportster. Hopefully they will be even cheaper by the time you buy one because the weather will be colder. I’ve noticed around here (Indiana) that there are really good deals on Evo Fatboys. I’ve seen nice ones for $4000.
That’s what I’m hoping as well. The pricing seems to be even lower in the winter. So many sweet deals on used Harleys right now! I can’t wait.
