The Southwest is currently suffering from a water crisis unlike any seen before. What we are witnessing is a nexus of 3 things: 19th-century laws, 20th-century infrastructure, and 21st century population, economics, and climate. 

The Rio Grande has been totally dry since this past spring. This is a view of the riverbed from the Highway 60 overpass.

In this podcast, I discuss some of the causes that have brought us to this current situation.
