Learning How to Die – Celebrating The Life of Mike Beliveau AKA Duelist1954

I recently learned that Mike Beliveau passed away after announcing last month that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I was both impressed and inspired by Mike’s decision to face death directly and to prioritize quality of life over quantity by declining treatment. Throughout my life, I have seen many people succumb to cancer, and in each case, the treatments often seemed more harmful than the disease itself.

Mike had a long writing career that began in 1988 with the publication of his first article in Muzzleloader Magazine. He also wrote for Gun World Magazine and Guns of the Old West Magazine. In addition, he maintained a YouTube channel for many years and fought against his local government when they attempted to shut down his personal shooting range.
