Wrong, you do NOT need a small camera. In the days when cameras first came out, sure. But today, everyone has a freakin’ camera – even the lampposts have cameras!
The truth: for today’s documentary street photography, bring 3 cameras. You won’t have to ask to take photos, people will ASK YOU to take their photos. Why? because you look like a professional. In my experience, the direct opposite of what is generally believed, is actually true.
