Until the mountain forgets you are there

I spend as much time up in the mountains as I possibly can. Luckily, I live just a short distance from paradise. I love to sit for long periods of time waiting for the mountain to forget that I’m there.

I found these two large chunks of fatwood lying on the forest floor. They weigh several pounds each, as they are filled with pine resin. You can use this for fire starting or cook it down into pine tar.

I still haven’t seen a bear, but there have been plenty of signs.

It started to rain…
