Living on Earth – Cabin build

Spread the love

I’m building a 12×14 cabin on a piece of property we own. Many people are purchasing pre-built portable sheds and living in them these days. People just can’t afford to pay rent or a mortgage, so living in a storage shed has become the new American dream. The problem I see with this is that these sheds are way overpriced and poorly built. With a little bit of elbow grease and the willingness to learn skills, you can have a much better-built home for a fraction of the cost. Sure, you can put a few hundred dollars down and they will drop off your instant house. But, you still need to finish the inside, and now you’re further in debt, with the interest rates between 18 and 28 percent, it will be a long time before you can be free from payments. With resources like YouTube, you can learn basic carpentry. If you buy a little wood each week, within a year you’ll have a new home that you built with your own hands hand, free and clear of debt. Convenience and instant gratification have their price. The price is your freedom and sense of self-worth.
